About me
I come from a family of makers. As far back as any of us can remember, there has been a family member involved in the arts and crafts in one way or another; we’ve had fine artists, painters, a poet, toolmakers, and carpenters. (And lest I forget - one product designer.) I’m happy to be continuing that tradition in my own way.
The heavy toolbox pictured above is a recent gift from my parents. It belonged to my great-grandfather who was a skilled toolmaker and engraver. His job was to create the embossed designs and logos on mass-produced glass bottles by painstakingly engraving the steel molds. He was doing his work in the 1930s, as the first of four generations of my family (including me!) that worked for the same company.
Like other members of my family, I tend to collect tools. I enjoy using them for everything from doing home repairs and building furniture to sculpting models and making prototypes of products.
I collect books and art, and so my home is colorful while my bank account is occasionally grey. There are too many vintage cameras around here and a darkroom in my basement to support my photographic projects to boot. And there is food; my sons tell me that my pizzas are very good, and although they don’t eat it, I’m here to tell you that my sourdough bread is excellent, no matter what the boys say. Ask me for the recipe!
About this web site
As a product development consultant operating a one-person company, I designed all the products featured here. In addition, I personally created all of the images, illustrations and animations of the products using appropriate software tools. And I’m happy to show you more if you’ll kindly click here. Thanks for visiting!
